Password Journal for Crafters Cupboard

Hi everyone,

As I cool off here in Melbourne I have finished another project for Crafters Cupboard.  Those of you who know me may be aware that my organisational skills are somewhat lacking and I need reminders to remember significant events etc.  When my friend Liz and I were making the blog I couldn't even remember my passwords - I had a few to choose from and we got there in the end.  Liz did suggest that I should make a book and write them down, so, that is what I've done.
For instructions please go to Crafters Cupboard.           Joan

Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year (belated)

Hi everyone,

Happy Christmas and Merry New Year!
I have been terribly slack lately, so I thought that I should do some posts.  First off, I need to thank everyone  for all their Christmas cards and apologise for not sending any out.  You see, firstly I was running really late making them and decided I had to stop at 20 (I normally do about 60).
As I "speak" the cold change is coming - the curtains are flapping and I can smell the rain on the hot earth.  Melbourne has the hottest temps since 1908 with 4 days over 40C and to put it mildly, I'm over it.  In the photo below you can see my lawn which has yellowed this week.
Getting back to the Christmas cards, my DH managed to lose my address list and couldn't remember where he put it.  After this I just gave up.  I will insert The Christmas card that I did manage to give to my family for you all to share - I still have some which I am too embarrassed to send now, so you may get one later this year.          Cooler Joan

Hi everyone,

I am trying to catch up on posts tonight as Big Brother is going on in the background.  Yesterday was DD Fiona's 21st birthday at the Melbourne Zoo.  The weather was perfect, the public holiday perfect - as so did plenty of other people agree and the company was perfect.  I'll attach some pictures, but as usual I took plenty of the giraffes and not of the people.  Lets see what my camera brings.

The best animal at the zoo.  Happy 21st Fi.

Hi everyone,

This is the first project for Crafters Cupboard.  This is made from a Chinese origami box or diorama  and when I saw the stamps I just had to have Santa flying across a navy background with the reindeer flying off with the presents inside.  For instructions, please see Crafters Cupboard blog http://crafterscupboardaustralia.blogspot.com.au/2013/11/design-team-project-from-joan-mcalpine.html  The stamps I used are Molly Blooms (they have faces!).
Please let me know what you think.
Cheers,

Joan

Hi everyone,

Some of you may not know that I am a midwifery educator and I have been writing for some time a curriculum for where I work so we can teach mid to overseas midwives so they can work in Australia and for any midwives who are no longer registered  and have to update.
Anyway, I have submitted my curriculum and now I am starting to see reality with some shopping for the mid lab.  I have attached our brand new, baby Annie, sitting in front of my window.  Annie was very grateful to escape suffocation from the plastic bag that engulfed her and looks forward to being resuscitated (hopefully successfully) for many years.
Cheers,

Joan
Last weekend my DH and I went to Grong Grong for This is Your Life for his cousin Lorraine and her husband Bruce.  Now, you may well ask, where is Grong Grong?  Well, it's on the Newell Hwy, 20K past Narrandera, NSW.
It was great to see the whole town out at the Mechanics Institute for the night out, followed by brunch on Sunday.
I will attach a photo that I took from the sports club and another that I took on the way home of a road obstacle.  When we left Grong Grong the weather was a beautiful 29 and by the time we hit Victoria it was a freezing 10-12.

Accordion flip card

This is the almost complete accordion flip card using the JOFY stamps from Paper Artsy that I made yesterday. I have fallen in love with the Mermaid paint colour! I will make a Christmas one of these on Friday for Crafters Cupboard to show at Picture to Page at Sandown Racecourse at the weekend.  I hope to be teaching this on November 30th at Berwick.
More good news today - I found my digital SLR camera hiding under the stairs.
Cheers for now,

Joan

Inaugural post!!

What do you say when you finally get around to creating a blog?  Of course, the proof will be in the pudding as I keep up with posts and photos.
I have spent this afternoon creating a little album show casing Paper Artsy products for Crafters Cupboard.  I have a love of nature - flowers in particular and this album shows the JOFY stamps off. I am now a design team member for Crafters Cupboard, which is good because I love Paper Artsy stamps and paint.

Secondly, I have been busy tidying up my craft room so I can fit everything in (including me) without tripping over and losing everything in the room.  I am about a 1/3 through the room and there is a significant mountain of craft supplies increasing for my garage sale.

I will add some photos when I have time to sort out a Samsung that wont talk to my Mac.
